Mexicans and Obama
While in Mexico during the month of December it was interesting to note how the Mexican press covers the upcoming Obama Inaugural. A great deal of interest and hope by average Mexicans in everyday work life. They have many questions and are very hopeful about the future relationship between their country and the United States of America. They seem very optimistic that the new administration will again attempt to address the immigration problems between our two countries. Although with the economic crisis in both countries there is less interest in immigrating to the U.S. Although many want the future opportunity.

A great deal of hope? Does that suprise anyone? Of course the Mexicans wanted Obama to win the election because they knew if he did win, hopping the border wouldnt become any more difficult for the next 4 years.Im sure Al Qaeda would have also voted for Mr.Obama.What we should do is start broadcasting our liberal propaganda about how bad our country is to all of Mexico and they might just beleive they have more opportunity in their homeland than here.
ReplyDeleteI do not understand why the Mexican people are so intent on our system of government and hoping that we will increase their job supply. Their taking of our car production has accelerated the downfall of our economy, and now they expect us to provide them with more jobs, while we are in our own economic slowdown...sounds fishy to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Mexican optimism may be fueled by their interest in feeling out the new American leadership. The Mexicans are trying to figure out what kind of pros and cons they will experience.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great thing that Mexico looks to us in hope that we stay strong, that we get back on our feet, and we continue to be the "leader" or whatever you wish to call it. A problem with this, though, is that while Mexico is hoping our economy gets better and we have a president that can help our country sustain economic stability, they are forgetting about their own country's problems. They are looking to us to fix the problems that they have by fixing our problems when they could make it easier and just depend on their own government to make things better. I think that it would be a lot more beneficial to them if they take things into their own hands instead of waiting around for us to make things better for them.
ReplyDeleteI was in Newark NJ last year and I just wanted to get my hair cut and highlighted. I went to the mall and to a chain hair salon. Barley any of the people there spoke english and they were extremely rude to me right from the start. The lady doing my hair kept giving me attitude and talking to her coworkers in spanish. I told her I only wanted a half inch trim and she cut of five inches! I was extremely upset and uncomfortable but I was to mortified to move. After she chopped off my hair she started highlighting. Basically to make a long story short she did a crap job on my highlights. I complained to the manager but the manager blew it off and told me my hair was fine. It was spotted. I do not pay $70 for a service to be discriminated against in my own country. If foreigners are going to live and work in this country, especially illegal immigrants. They should probably treat the people paying for them to live here with a little more respect.
